Musician Until Death

Playing Music

It all started with a plastic Tonette in elementary school. From the moment Mark played his first note, he was hooked. A few years later, his beloved junior high music teacher, Mrs. Morgan, told him he had the perfect lips for a trombone player. She later confessed that she only said that because she needed more trombonists in the band—but by then it was too late. Mark had fallen in love with the instrument and was off and running.

Mark is proficient on numerous instruments and has performed professionally on trombone, tuba, bass guitar, and keyboards. He earned both a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree and studied at several outstanding schools, including USC, Biola University and California State University Long Beach. Throughout his career, Mark has performed with numerous symphonic orchestras, including the Pacific Symphony. As a jazz musician, he shared the stage with legends such as Count Basie and Rich Matteson. As a studio musician, he has played on countless recordings and toured with several rock bands.

Mark is currently writing a feature length film based on his experience playing with two “alternative” musicians in San Francisco. Keep an eye out for a theater marquee near you.
